How to key in Worker Permit Expiry and Period of Cover (start date)

- Change the date before you pay. The form does not change it for you, and this is the most common reason a period of cover does not match the permit.
- Buying without an ITR: type the start date in both the SPIKPA and the IG sections. The Excel file fills in the permit expiry, not the start date.
- Workers with different expiry dates on one ITR: the cover starts from the earliest expiry date.

- Federal Territory Immigration = Kuala Lumpur (Jalan Duta)
- Immigration Malaysia = Putrajaya
The IG guarantee amount
The guarantee amount is the sum the Immigration Department requires for each worker, by nationality. You do not pay this amount. You pay the IG premium: 1.5% of the guarantee amount, with a minimum of RM50 per policy before SST and stamp duty.

Why a few workers cost the same as one: six Bangladeshi workers with the same expiry date come to RM45, so the RM50 minimum applies; seven come to RM52.50.
