# Renewing next year with eInsurans

SPIKPA and the Insurance Guarantee follow the worker's PLKS, so you buy them again at every PLKS renewal.

## How renewal works

1. **Start early.** You can renew a PLKS up to **3 months before it expires**, and it must be done before it expires.
2. **FOMEMA first.** A FOMEMA medical exam is needed every year before the renewal.
3. **Generate a new ITR** in FWCMS (ePLKS, option 3 **Self Insurance Purchase**). It is valid for 14 days.
4. **Buy with eInsurans** using the new ITR and your SSM number. FWCMS updates by itself.
