When a worker goes home: the Check Out Memo and your security bond

When a worker's employment ends, the employer must send the worker home with a Check Out Memo (COM). Since 1 September 2025, COM applications are made only through FWCMS (eCOM) or MyPASS@JIM, not at the counter.

Applying for the Check Out Memo in FWCMS (eCOM)

  1. Choose the reason (for example service ended, failed FOMEMA, factory closed).
  2. Upload the flight ticket and the passport pages.
  3. Wait for the approval email. No counter visit is needed; it is all done through FWCMS.

Your security bond

The bond or Insurance Guarantee is released only when the worker leaves properly through the COM. If a worker absconds, report it at an Immigration office with a police report; the bond is forfeited.

Your insurance

Tell us when a worker goes home. Unused SPIKPA is refunded pro-rata; the Insurance Guarantee premium is not refunded. More: Endorsement & Cancellation
